Spring Skin Care Guide: How to Keep Your Skin Healthy This Season

The weather is finally starting to warm up and that means it’s time to start thinking about how to take care of your skin this season. The sun is out and the temperatures are rising, which can be a recipe for disaster for your skin. In this blog post, we’ll discuss some tips on how to keep your skin healthy and looking its best this spring!

Protect your skin with sunscreen

One of the most important things you can do for your skin is to wear sunscreen. This is true year-round, but it is especially important in the spring and summer when the sun is strongest. Make sure to choose a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and apply it generously all over your body before heading outside. Don’t forget to reapply every 2 hours especially if you are going to be under the sun for an extended period of time.

Exfoliate

Spring is the time for growth and renewal. This means sloughing away dead skin cells by exfoliating. Just be sure to avoid over-exfoliating your skin so you don’t strip away all of the natural oils. A light exfoliation every few days should be enough to keep your skin looking healthy. Click here for the best way to exfoliate your skin!

Hydrate your skin

It’s important to keep your skin hydrated during the spring and summer months. The heat can cause your skin to become dehydrated, so make sure you are still regularly applying moisturizer; although you may want to switch to a lightweight moisturizer to avoid that heavy and sticky feeling.

Spalina Skincare’s Lipid Refresh Hydrating Toner contains hyaluronic acid and lipids that do a good job of delivering a surge of moisture to your skin so adding this to your spring skin care routine is definitely a must.

Another spring skin care must-have is the Peptide Firming Glow serum. This anti-aging serum will also help replenish moisture in your skin, leaving you with a revitalized and youthful complexion.

Keep allergies at bay

Another thing to keep in mind is that springtime can bring a lot of allergies. Allergies can cause your skin to become red and itchy, so it’s important to take steps to prevent this from happening.

If you are prone to skin allergies, make sure to take some allergy medication and avoid touching your face as much as possible. When going out, wear sunglasses to lessen eye irritation. It’s best to consult your doctor regarding your allergies as they can prescribe you the medication you need and advise you on how to manage it.

Schedule a facial treatment

What better way to give your complexion a fresh start than with a professional facial? Facials are great for all skin types and can help address specific concerns like acne, dullness, and dryness.

Not sure which facial is right for you? Book a consultation with licensed esthetician, Spela Hernandez, to get personalized recommendations. She will also be able to help you create a skincare routine that is tailored specifically for your needs.
